darling, once more

I walked down the street tonight and found an old friend ;

She was much farther down and was unable to be seen,

But her voices got caught in the gusts of wind

That at first were faint and imperceptible,

But with the same force that pierced through my sweater

and swept past my ears,

She became undeniable ;

I quickly glanced up with my sudden recognition,

And walking closer now,

So pleasantly was the cellist seated there at the side-walk,

Him gently reacquainting her with an old friend,

An old friend whose memories and mind began to flicker once more
